In support of Sturt

We are in danger of losing our wonderful Sturt galleries and studios- a wonderful centre of excellence in craft appreciation and education.

Please read on!:
@traceymitchellceramics PLEASE HELP SAVE STURT
Sturt staff and community have been informed that Sturt business will ‘pause’ (effectively close)while a review takes place to decide on Sturt’s future. There is real hope that the review will give Sturt independence and be a way forward however it relies on Frensham Schools support. The cafe is closed. The shop and gallery are set to close anytime from April (maybe as late as end May). Pottery, jewellery, P/T wood and weave classes will finish at the end of Term 1. All short courses and future summer and winter schools are cancelled. The full time wood school has a reprieve until the end of the year.

We are asking people to email Frensham Schools with their protest and in support of Sturt. The more pressure we put on Frensham Schools to act responsibly, the better the outcome for Sturt’s future. We are also asking for the gallery shop to remain open alongside the gallery while the review takes place.
Email to feedback@frensham.nsw.edu.au with a cc’d copy going to Friends of Sturt secretary clift@cliftstevenson.com who will ensure your email gets to the right ppl.

Rachel Biffin

When in doubt, go create

That’s the motto Australian based artist, Rachel Biffin, lives by.

Rachel's work comes out of a fascination with how the body intersects with and mediates online worlds, the media, interiors, and the environment. She creates digital collage with sourced or original photographs playing with transparency, line, and shape.

Having been in small business, branding, and marketing, Rachel unashamedly now brings her dreamy creative thinking into art, pattern design and licensing.

When not creating, she’s busy raising three boys, walking her fabulous poodle, drinking chai with her husband and friends, and delighting in finding, wrapping and posting presents to her loved ones.
