A kerb is a soft edge

The other day, as I walked my dogs, I watched my poodle Peppy lightly prance the narrow path of the kerb line between the grass and the road. It occured to me that the kerb is a soft edge.

Over the last 4 years, I have created designs that I think represent the idea of the soft edge. Concepts you could call them.

A Kerb is a soft edge

May the kerb in the country maintain its soft edge status. That is, be the delineator between the natural and the man made. For that to continue, nature has to be nurtured.

Daily Theatre

Cafe’s are like the theatre. A scene is set. The waiters are the actors. The customers, ordering, eating, coming and going, are the audience. The furniture and decor are the props. The coffee machine, the soundtrack.

The methodical, rhythmical, regularity of the barista’s movements helps you subconsciously predict the number of beats till you get your coffee.

You feel the owner’s presence. They set the temperature of the space…
